So my mother is extremely devoted to making me learn new things, without even teaching me a bit. I've been doing readings for over 9years online. Since 8 I learned I had a gift and started helping people around the house and neighborhood. She decided to pass along a crystal ball my grandmother had given her. YAY! right? I have no idea, how to get started, the best ways to learn. I read a lot of articles online about it, but a lot of sites don't share the same information.. Do you use Scrying? What are some tips you can help me with or help other people interested in learning about this?

Ok I learned to scry with a bowl of water (dark colored bowl) and a candle lit room. 1-2
Do you remember those pictures that you had to UNFOCUS to see the 3-D image in it?
You have to soft focus on the dark water - you will start to see images. Keep practing!!! Its not easy but its FUN!
Start with the bowl and graduate to the ball. Same dark lit room (remember the gypsies in the movies? The room was dark)

I was thinking, I have visions that play like movies. I see very clearly what i am told to tell clients and such.. What is so different with the Scrying that makes people turn to it?

I have not done it much but you are supposed to see with your physical eyes. I've only done it a few times when I was a teen But I know a lot about how its done because I read a LOT

Thank You very much... I will let you know how it turned out. I am anxious but i'll have to wait for a day when the little ones are asleep or my eldest who is 2 is with her father. I can only imagine the Scrying she would do if she gets her hand on the bowl lol

I have tried scrying with the dark bowl and water, but I just kept going more into a meditative trance state than actually seeing anything in the bowl. I figured for me it is mostly "in my head". LOL
I'm looking forward to hearing about your experiences.

Crystal balls are interesting. While some say it's good to have those natural formations inside it, others say no. For me, the formations were easier, but I was using the same skill I would if I was doing tarot cards or tea leaves. A clear ball is altogether a different experience. I used one by candle light and it was so not easy. It's similar to a black mirror, but to start, you rely on the images set forth in your imagination, and then the more you do it, the more you'll see just with your own eyes. And of course, don't forget to say a prayer of protection beforehand!
Blessed be, *~Melanie

I don't know if it's scrying - but I often see words or faces in the clouds followed by messages...

Yes Melanie! Always use protection! and Christine, yes it is a form of scrying to see images with the clouds. My daughter is the next generation up coming in our family and she will say something like. Look its a hawk, he wants to tell us something. Blessed Be

There is a focussing technique that I have used on many ocassions where you stare into a mirror that has been placed in front of a dark background making sure that there is a source of light behind you. By slightly allowing your vision to go out of focus you can actually make your own image dissapear, however, before that happens you often find yourself looking at the face of someone else and the visions tend to follow. Once your own image has gone you do see a light before you that gets closer and closer. I tend to stop there although I am led to understand that the light can come right out of the mirror and even place itself beside you. I am guessing that this is also a form of scrying and always protect myself first as I stumbled across this many years ago with a friend of mine who totally freaked at first! Probably a good idea to read up as much as you can and get expert help before launching into anything... Snowy x

I've tried the mirror exercise, but tend to get distracted with that one. I like meditating on the flame of a candle.
