The Hierophant

Card #5
The Hierophant, also referred to as The Pope, is card number 5 in the Major Arcana. Generally when I get this card it talks about issues I would consider to be of karmic value rather than just day to day issues. This isn't always the case, but often when the Hierophant shows up you will find issues come up that will give you cause to at least stop and notice.
This card represents what I like to call the establishment on a physical level, but also ancient wisdom on a spiritual level. When found in a reading he often tells me that the individual is being asked to make some sort of a commitment. It can also tell me that a marriage (given that marriage is an established institution) is possible.
When you see this card, think: Established Order
